Custom website design and development to improve TL Engineering’s digital experience

Favourite project of 2025?

This one is a HUGE contender for my favourite project of 2025! This was such a great website redesign to work on with Thomas & the TL Engineering team and involved a complete overhaul of their entire website, including the addition of new products, showcasing all of their services, and their premium partners.

The Challenge

TL Engineering (a leading Perth-based specialist in custom truck bodies, service bodies, and vehicle modification) needed a powerful digital presence to match the scale and quality of their engineering work. They offer an extensive and complex line-up of heavy vehicle products, light vehicle solutions, accessories (not to mention their services!) across multiple internal divisions. The existing website structure didn’t include this catalogue, leading to inefficient lead qualification, and a brand image that didn’t represent their reputation for innovation, expertise and professionalism.

Our Solution

Restructured Information Architecture

Working with the team on this one, we completely reorganised their extensive product catalogue and service offerings into clear paths (Heavy Vehicles, Light Vehicles, Accessories, Services, Resources). The new website is super easy to navigate, and Desktop users can use the Megamenu to find the exact product they’re searching for.

Strategic Planning & Design

I developed a detailed prototype in Figma showcasing TL Engineering’s impressive custom builds and technical capabilities. The striking imagery used throughout was taken by their in-house photographer, and when paired with TL Engineering’s branding (fonts, colours, icons) establishes immediate credibility and trust. The resulting design is premium, trustworthy, modern and very easy to navigate.

Scalable Development

Built on the WordPress platform and leveraging a professional page-builder, the website uses templates and global components for consistency and future-scalability. Comprehensive on-page SEO was implemented as on all of my websites, this includes meta titles, meta descriptions, image alt tags, and heading hierarchy to maximise search engine visibility from launch.

Content Management System (CMS)

Implemented WordPress as the CMS to allow the team to internally add new products, accessories, services and resources super easily without needing a developer on-hand.

Ongoing maintenance and ad-hoc

Website work never ends at launch! I provide comprehensive support within my hosting plans, including site monitoring, maintenance, monthly reports and plugin updates for WordPress websites.
