Project Background

Apparel Impact Institute is a leading organisation transforming the fashion industry through sustainable climate solutions. They needed a new website to connect brands, manufacturers, philanthropic donors, and solution providers in their mission to reduce the fashion industry’s annual carbon emissions by 100 million tonnes! Working with an external design team, I developed a clean, interactive, stakeholder-focused platform using Oxygen Builder (WordPress). The final website clearly communicates their three-pillar approach and facilitates engagement across their diverse industry audiences.

Climate Solutions Portfolio

Aii had an existing solutions database managed by external developers, but wanted to bring management in-house while improving the user experience in the process. I designed and developed a solutions (case studies) search platform within WordPress and Oxygen builder, that presents their climate programs in a simplified, accessible format. The new solutions page has advanced filtering capabilities by program type, geographic location, and maturity level, allowing users to easily discover relevant solutions. It also showcases clear metrics on projected GHG, energy, and water savings for each program.

One of the key challenges of this project was to deliver on the functionality, user experience and performance objectives without introducing fragile plugin dependencies, clusmy architecture or security risks. To achieve this, we had to be extremely strategic in how we tackled the goals of the project, choosing plugins carefully and really considering the bigger picture at every step of the process.
