The Challenge
Flinders University Sport & Fitness needed a modern website to serve students, staff, and the public accessing their range of services, including a 24/7 fitness facility, 21 sports clubs, and allied health services. The existing site was visually outdated and had poor information architecture, which made it super hard for students (and members) to find what they were looking for. I completely rebuilt the website with a focus on clear navigation, great information architecture and a smooth, enjoyable experience!
Our Solution
- Restructured sitemap – Completely reorganised the menu structure for a natural, seamless user flow. Hello mega menu!
- Strategic planning – Wireframed and mapped site architecture in Relume to allow collaboration and analysis, before buidling detailed prototypes in Figma.
- Finsweet Attributes – Built in Webflow using Finsweet attributes and a clean, descriptive naming convention methodology for future-proofing. I also added comprehensive on-page SEO.
- Content management – Implemented Webflow CMS for easy content updates, additions and maintenance.
The results? Pretty great.
- Dramatically improved user experience – students can now easily find what they’re looking for, and prospective members can explore services intuitively, leading to improved brand equity and sentiment among the target audience.
- Enhanced content management – staff can update featured content and communicate with users effectively through the featured article section, enabling a more dynamic experience and focus on important content.
- Better mobile experience – fully responsive design works seamlessly across all devices. Mobile, desktop or tablet—FUSF’s customers all enjoy a great experience that has them returning regularly.
- SEO optimisation – comprehensive on-page optimisation leading to improved search visibility and performance. They now show up in the right places on Google!
Sometimes the biggest wins aren’t the pretty visuals, they’re the moment someone can finally just… find the thing. A full restructure later and FUSF has a website that works as hard as they do! The new website doesn’t just look modern and clean, but actually works better for everyone who uses it!
